Included with the motherboard are the regulars including; manuals, driver CDs, SATA cables and well a heck of a lot more. Well look at that; small and good looking. And really, as powerful as an enthusiast setup. Included in the bundle is one motherboard and gear like SATA cables, SLI connectors.

The motherboard comes with some nice extras like the fan extension card, a 3x3 (3T3R) 802.11ac Wi-Fi antenna, a M.2 X4 Mini PCI-Express daughter board card (as the M2 slot on the motherboard is just silly, vertical.  The most impressive an expensive add-on card however is the ThunderboltEX 3 Card as you can see above, ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 is an Intel-certified Thunderbolt 3 add-on card included with the X99-Deluxe II to enable bi-directional speeds up to 40Gbps. Thunderbolt 3 supports daisy-chaining up to six devices, utilizes a Type C reversible connector for compatibility with the latest USB 3.1 Type-C devices and supports the USB Power Delivery specification for fast, high-power charging of up to 36W.

Check that, 5 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. Actually four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 can be arranged in these slot configurations with graphics cards and then there is one extra slot at X1 or x4:

Using a 40-Lane CPU
4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8, x8/x8/x8/x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x1 mode)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x1

Using a 28-Lane CPU
3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x8, x8/x8/x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x1

As you can see these are PCI Express Gen 3.0 configurations, that's just more then plenty. Mind you that the Core i7 6950X and 59xxK processors have 40 PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes while the Core i7 68xx / 58xx "only" offer 28 PCIe lanes.

The X99-DELUXE II offers eight DIMM slots with support for quad-channel DDR4 memory up 3,333 MHz (OC). You can install a maximum of 128 GB in total. XMP 2.0 is supported, we'll show you this petite setup running at 2,133 and even 3,200 MHz. There are more switches on-board as well, once you decide to go for 2-way or 3-way multi-GPU graphics you can dis/enable certain PCIe slots, though again that is integrated mostly for pro overclockers.
