Located just under the SATA ports you can see two switchable BIOS-es. There's a secondary BIOS available for you should you mess up the first one. The little button to the right is a Direct Key button for booting directly into the firmware interface without worrying about hitting the Del key. To the left another USB host ports. You'll have a plethora of USB functionality really.

Next to the right go button we see a reset and power button. Should you mess up your memory configuration and the overclock halts at boot/post, then press the MemOK button. The mem will be down clocked whilst leaving the overclock in-tact. You can see a diagnostic POST status led, it basically shows the CPU temp and / or status codes. The micro switches allow you to disable PCIE ports and LN2 slow modes, which are irrelevant for the normal users.

The board is powered by 1 x 24-pin EATX Power connector(s), 1 x 8-pin ATX 12V Power connector(s) and one 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector (optinally).

BTW once you power up the motherboard red LED lights (on/off configurable in the BIOS) will emit a halo of light coming from the bottom side of the motherboard, very nice.

ASUS also includes an LCD panel based OC panel with the motherboard that can be used to monitor and overclock. The device offers two modes. Normal Mode has OC Panel inside the case, while in Extreme Mode it works as an external console. A 2.6” display keeps you fully informed. Included is a 5.25" bay as well, so you can install the OC Panel in your PC case. When used this way, it operates in Normal Mode, perfect for hardcore gaming and standard overclocking. It shows dynamic CPU temps, ratios, base clocks, and fan RPM info.

You can also use one-click instant CPU Level Up, which has two speed boost presets. For cooling, select Turbo, Standard, and Silent CPU fan modes as needed. The OC Panel can be used as an external overclocking console, integrating many overclocker-appreciated hardcore features. These include Subzero Sense, VGA SMB, VGA Hotwire, four 4-pin fan headers, Slow Mode, Pause Switch, and multiple parameter tuning. All settings adjustable real-time and quickly applied through easy-reach control buttons.
