Meet the Radeon RX 460 in the form of the ASUS STRIX GAMING. The card we received is an 4 GB version with a dual-fan heatpipe slash radiator design cooler. It has one PCIe PEG power connector (6-pin). The card has been designed to deliver game perf of up-to Full HD gaming at best.
In our findings the card is faster, battling with the GeForce GTX 950 and 960, at sub 149 USD for a 4 GB version that's not a bad position to be in. Obviously there's more to check out other than performance, we'll have a peek at PCB heat levels, GPU temperatures as well as noise levels.
Our Radeon RX 460 is armed with 4 GB graphics memory which will be clocked at 7.0 Gbps / 256-bit. The reference clocked product will run with clock frequencies up-to 1,200 MHz on the base GPU, this model is however factory tweaked a tiny bit and clocked at 1,256 MHz (dynamic boost) in the fastest settings (which we test).
This Polaris 11 based product has been designed to be a match for the 1600x1200 up-to Full HD resolution domain. As you can see, ASUS includes one HDMI (2.0b), one DisplayPort 1.4 (HDR ready) connectors as well as one DVI connector.
