ASUS GTX 680 DCU II TOP

Alright, here we have the ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP edition. Overall a nice but sure, slightly odd looking card due to its ginormous size. Let's look at the factory overclocked card from several different viewpoints.

The GTX 680 card is quite good looking with the black colored monitor connectors and then that dual fan DirectCU II cooler. The card is equipped with the GK104 GPU that harbors the new Kepler architecture. You get the basics like the graphics card, PEG converter cables, manual and a demo and driver CD.

The card will come with two GB of graphics memory, that's definitely enough if you are a hardcore gamer with a monitor resolution of 1920x1200. If you plan to game on triple monitors then 4 GB models is something I'd like to hint at. as that would definitely help you out in the uber high resolutions and hefty AA combinations.

Here we can see the dual fans a little better, combined with the 8CM Smart Fans, heat is effectively drawn away from hot spots.

All Kepler family graphics cards are PCIe gen 3.0 compatible. Going from PCIe Gen 2 to Gen 3 doubles the bandwidth available to the add-on cards installed, from 500 MB/s per lane to 1 GB/s per lane. NVIDAI still needs to release a driver opening up that function though. For now all cards are limited towards gen 2.0 PCIe.

The backside shows a nice backplate which really is there to give the card a more rigid stability, as the size and weight have an adverse effect on it.

The card is 27 cm in length by the way. Included in the bundle is a small manual, SLI connector, power converter, a driver CD oh and one card ;)
