DirectX 12: Single graphics card performance

First off, above we have a GeForce GTX 980 Ti, we've ran the 3 minute benchmark  in both D3D11 and D3D12, it was interesting to see that DX11 was faster. Likely (and we do hope) the DX12 code-path has more object and polygons to render.

So if we drop towards 2560x1440 in HIGH quality mode (the recommended performance mode really) we see relatively normal and expected behaviour. For proper gameplay we feel 40 FPS on average is a comfortable region to be in. So keep thus thumb of rule in mind, an average 40 FPS should the threshold you aim for, while 60 FPS (frames per second) or higher can be considered more optimal. This goes for FPS gaming. However with RTS gaming things are a bit different, in such a title gaming as low as the ~35 FPS range is OK'ish. Gaming below 30 FPS is consider to be poor. As marked in the chart, the the Radeon 380 used had only 2GB whereas the 370 tested has 4GB. I deliberately threw it into the mix to show memory dependencies. This benchmark is only viable with at least 3 GB graphics memory it seems.
