Antec HCP 1000W

There is one top fan; 135 mm. An extremely silent quality fan with double ball bearings. The PSU has an ATX design yet is slightly more lengthy, it'll fit in any regular chassis though, its dimensions are: 150 x 190 x 86mm (W x L x H).

Here at the backside we can see that the design is 100% modular, you can connect cables as much or as little as is needed. A concept that people very much like anno 2012.

When it comes to wiring we feel that there's enough connectors for this model, have a look at the supplied connectors, all with decent length by the way.

The ATX motherboard connector as well reached to 56CM, the Molex and SATA power cables 55 to 90 CM, the 8-pin CPU ATX power connector is roughly 65 cm and the PCIE graphics connectors reach a lovely 65 cm as well, nice.

Below an overview of available connectors.

Graphics card wise with our tested 1000W model you get to play with six 6+2 Pin PCie connectors. With power consumption going down massively on modern graphics cards it would be nice to see future kilowatt PSU's with 8 6+2 Pin PCie connectors though. Four GeForce GTX 670 cards in quad SLI would only use 680 Watt = 14.6 A per card.

We see sleeved cabling with dark colored connectors. That's a good design. The cables definitely have a proper nice length as well.

Last photo, here we can observe modular options, really simple but great stuff. The four +12V rails certainly are excessive alright, 40 AMPs each.
