You will have noticed the offset in the somewhat poor gaming performance - we ran out of time to track down whatever is effecting game performance. On this page a few extra 1 on 1 comparisons inbetween the 8-core Core i7 5960X (99% similar to the 6900K including clocks aside from slightly worse IPC) and the 8-core Ryzen 7 1800X. The settings used are similar to what we use in our graphics card reviews, thus settings the way you game at home on your PC, in quality.

While the results on this page look a lot better, the reality is that the Ryzen 7 1800X should do a notch better. We feel we need to give the Ryzen platform a little more time to develop and tweak on the motherboard manufacturers side as well as giving AMD the time to fine-tune their application software.
