Let's have a look at the processor a little more up-close and personal.
There she is, the AMD Phenom 9700 processor.
AMD has promised that Phenom processors will work both in AM2+ (790FX) sockets, as well as AM2 sockets
We however used an AMD 790FX engineering sample mainboard, thanks to Jetway.
The processor will work as well in AM2 sockets. This will however be dependent on the board's VRM design and the vendor providing a BIOS update.
