Noctua NH-D15 review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/28/2014 08:57 AM [ 20 comment(s) ]

We review the all new Noctua NH-D15 dual-fan cooler. The new flagship product from Noctua is huge in both size and performance. The successor for the NH-D14 premium CPU cooler has a six heatpipe dual radiator design to improve on cooling performance and noise levels. Obviously what catches the eye is that dual radiator allowing you to use one or even two 140mm fans (included).

Corsair H75 review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/11/2014 10:20 AM [ 13 comment(s) ]

In this review we test the Corsair H75 liquid cooler. The H75 features a 120 mm radiator that is 25mm thin but also was applied with two really silent low RPM fans, so you add this kit in a push-pull configuration. The end results is a LCS kit that cools pretty nicely, but remains absolutely silent.

We test and review the Noctua NH-U12S and NH-U14S CPU coolers. Both coolers have recently been introduced into the channel with kicks performance and versus some really nice airflow PWM controlled fans that are drop-dead silent. Hey, it's Noctua so you know it's good, let's check out the review shall we ?

We test and review the Corsair H90 liquid cooler. The Hydro Series H90 is Corsairs first 140mm Liquid Cooling solution that is bound to draw some impressive heat from your processor. With cool looks and very silent operation we can see this product ending up in a lot of PC builds alright.

NZXT recently unleashed the Kraken X40 liquid cooler, we test and review it. The Kraken X40 is a 140mm radiator based LCS unit that offers pretty solid performance numbers as you are about to find out. Combined with a cooling infrastructure provided by Asetek this all-in-one and easy to install kit can even be connected towards your PC through USB, where you can monitor and regulate the LCS unit and apply presets to make the LCS unit either silent, or high performance.

CPU cooler group test review with 3770K 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/21/2013 10:18 AM [ 32 comment(s) ]

In this review we test over a dozen CPU coolers, mainly heatpipe based. We'll test them on a Core i7 3770K, one of the more difficult to cool processors on the market. In this group test we'll use Scythe, Noctua, Coolink, Deepcool, Alpenfohn, Gelid and Cooler Master coolers. We'll test the more standard coolers, two low profile ones for HTPCs and some heavy duty heatpipe coolers targeted at the overclockers.

Zalman CNPS 9900 DF review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/16/2012 10:11 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review yet another Zalman CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) CPU cooler, it is the CNPS 9900 DF with Dual Fan. It's 2012 and Zalman is going strong on the concept and just when you think they can't change anything on that design they proof that a top notch new cooler based off that old design can still work out well and look gorgeous. Zalman claims this cooler to be offering quiet operation and broad compatibility for Intel 2011/1156/1155/1366/775 & AMD AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2.

Zalman CNPS 12X review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/03/2011 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

The one that everybody remembers and still is going strong where the initial CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) CPU cooler, the copper somewhat rounded "butterfly" based coolers. That model has been the biggest success of all their coolers. Anno 2011 Zalman is still going strong on the concept and just when you think they can't change anything on that design they proof that a top notch new cooler based off that old design can still work out well and look gorgeous. The Zalman CNPS 12X comes with Zalman’s heat transfer solution by utilizing ‘composite heatpipe’ technology allowing a Q-Max of roughly 300W, along with a bigger design Zalman claims this cooler to be offering quiet operation and broad compatibility for Intel 2011/1156/1155/1366/775 & AMD AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2.

Gelid GX-7 CPU cooler review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/30/2011 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Gelid is a company that made a nice impression a year or two ago introducing themselves by releasing their first aftermarket CPU cooler, the 'Silent Spirit' cooler. After Gelid released that Silent Spirit and then Tranqillo CPU coolers it was time for a new model. Progress is made and anno Q4 2011 it's time to release their third consumer grade CPU cooler. Their latest creation comes in the form of a tower cooler called GX-7 -- aimed at gamers apparently. Read article

Corsair H100 review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/06/2011 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

The product we test today is the Corsair H100, all pimped up with a new design radiator and internally regulated control for pump and fans. Next to that what's interesting is that this product is based on a dual 120mm rad, and that gives the series a heck of lot more performance over previous products. Now combining that with an easy on the eyes, relatively tool free installation and then Corsair might have a winner in their hands. Let's find out.

In the long line of Noctua CPU coolers they introduced another CPU cooler, tagged with the name NH-C14, the heatpipes bent in a C shape and armed with not one, but two Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm fans this product is bound to keep any CPU released to date nicely cooled and chilled. Read article

Thermalright HR-02 CPU cooler review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/07/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We test and review the Thermalright HR-02 CPU cooler. Thermalright actually introduces this product as a passive CPU Cooler. The HR-02 is the second revision of the legacy Thermalright HR-01 cooler. We'll test it passively cooled yet we'll also pair it with Thermalright's TY-140 fan, a 1300 RPM fan that is silent, yet high performing. As stated, the results stunned me, this is really really good stuff. Read article

Scythe Ninja 3 CPU cooler review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/02/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We test and review the Scythe Ninja 3 CPU cooler. The new organization of the aluminum fins allows, in cooperation with the eight U-shaped copper heatpipes marketed as M.A.P.S. (Multiple Airflow pass-through structure) guarantees high performance. This will get more clear in the photo-shoot though. According to Scythe is that translates into 7 per cent more heat removal compared to a cooler like the previous Ninja. The cooler is equipped with a 120mm-ventilator that can be regulated with the help of an included fan-controller in RPM from 470 to 1900 RPM with noise levels varying from 7 to 37dBA depending on your preference. Cooler Master V6 GT review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/24/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We test and review the Cooler Master V6 GT CPU cooler. This all new model comes with two fans and an advanced heatpipe design. Next to that, Cooler Master implemented a V-shaped heatpipe array and asymmetrical aluminum fins (which are densely stacked for optimal cooling). The V6 GT design provides 200W of cooling power, which should be enough for even the most enthusiastic PC lovahs, and definitely interesting to the Guru3D crowd. Read article
