XFX GeForce 8800 GTX XXX Edition

An XXX rated version of the GeForce 8800 GTX ? Hey, only XFX can do that for you. XFX have a "way" of communication and getting attention. They quite honestly deliver really impressive products. Today's tested product is no different. Yes, XXX: Adult entertainment for games; or is that the marketing gimmick that makes you remember this product line when you are in that store buying a graphics card? ;)

Now, as X-rated as it sounds and as truly sorry as I am I have to state that this has nothing to do with that particular industry. Confusing? The XXX edition of the GeForce 8800 GTX from XFX means you receive a card that has been pre-overclocked by default, so there's no need for you to overclock manually. Two huge benefits come from this, the first being your overclock is covered by warranty. Secondly, these cards have been pre-tested by XFX to see if they actually can take a high overclock, something which is always a bit of a gamble with a regular card.

So like a month and a half ago NVIDIA launched the series GeForce 8800 onto the market. Availability is not bad at all and prices are finally settling a little. It's quite funny, but the GTX is outselling the GTS models. The GTS does not seem to pick up and folks do not mind paying another 100-150 bucks. Or is this all about investment hmm ? But no matter what, I knew upfront that the 8800 products would be a great success as quite frankly they're really something else aren't they ?

With that in mind I'd like to guide you into today's review. We'll be looking at XFX's hottest product that money can buy, that being the GeForce 8800 GTX XXX Edition with 768 MB of gDDR3 memory. A product that offers tremendous amounts of performance, image quality and offers Full DirectX compatibility whether you play your "old" DirectX 8 and 9 titles or even the upcoming DirectX 10 titles.
