Tuniq Miniplant 950 Watt Power Supply review

The Verdict

Power Supplies have become a really big business as in the past 3-4 years the more mid-range and high-end PCs created the need for more power, better stability, aesthetics and ever since last year, energy efficiency. The market is not so big and saturated .. you have mo idea. And while big and saturated sounds pretty negative, it in fact is great ! See, it allows us way more choices, better build PSUs and due to our keen look at performance and your wallet we spot many different power supplies. For each function and purpose versus your budget, you have a choice. At this very moment if you buy a PSU above 75 USD, I do not believe there's a bad one. If you decide to go high-end, then that's where quality meets beauty.

The MiniPlant 950 Watt is such a PSU. The one thing it lacked was cable management,. Some oppose, other like .. again choices. This to date was one of the best PSUs we have tested. Sure we could not stress it, yet what we did test remained showed and absolute stable platform. Next to that we see good PSU protection & shutdown features ..we it's quite an efficient product as well (hard to measure really) and most of all, for the audiophiles .. this PSU just doesn't make any noticeable noise. I love that .. it's just so silent. Also notice the sleeved black nylon wiring.

The one minor concern for some of you will remain the fact that you can not attach or detach cables. So that means you have a lot of wiring in your PC. The PSU freaks will now attack me though, as modularity also equals worse efficiency. By adding connector blocks you also add resistance and maybe a little ripple. But whatever floats your boat

In closing, again a Tuniq Power Supply that is among the best we have ever tested. Surely we can't stress the PSU to it's full capacity but I know where these PSU's are made and I also know that equals quality. Armed with a three year warranty and a very competitive price you really can't go wrong here.

A highly stress able high efficient PSU is one of the wisest investments you can make for your PC. You know it'll last, safe you money on your power bill and help mother earth a little by doing your part in preserving power. You can purchase the Miniplant 950 Watt for roughly $249.99.

That's a reasonable price for a near KW PSU, that the small PS2 design and sheer silence of this product make is hand out a Guru3D recommended award. Good stuff.
