SunBeamtech 'Silent Storm' ATX mid tower

The Verdict

In the case of Guru3D versus SunBeamtech we the jury of Guru3D find the defendant guilty of the following charges:

  • Designing a silent case - Guilty.
  • Not creating a storm inside the case - Guilty.

Now all gibberish aside. The product that Sunbeam tech made is quite charming, they did a fine job. But it's certainly not exceptional when you look at design though. No flashy LED's, lights, see-through windows and fan grills .. but you know what ? That might actually be a good thing. Perhaps this case is targeted towards a completely different segment of the market, and hey .. you might think the design of this case is peachy nice looking. Design and looks aside. It really is a good case for various reasons and the chassis is built solid and its not lightweight. Of course the idea of the extra internal "Core fan" is a very nice marketing gimmick but it definitely will get some extra airflow over your CPU or whatever you point it at.

Yes the core fan does work though as there is a lot of airflow inside the PC cooling down various components. That by itself is commendable. The case however is not silent in the sense that you'll hardly hear it, contrary .. it's silent yet is audible, you can hear it for sure. But it's way better than a lot of cases we reviewed in the past. So I'd describe this case at as "more silent" than the average casing. The insides look like tin can, yet everything has been finished with detail. No way that you'll cut your hands open on a sharp edge. The wiring is organized and easy to connect.

What I love about this case though is the tool-less design. Insert a graphics card and you "click" it secure. Insert an optical drive and slide it in, that's just lovely.

In short this PC case is made for the people who like silence, good cooling yet do not want to own a screamy flashy lit PC. And the guys from SunBeamtech did a very nice job in designing a mid-tower PC case like this. oh yeah, and did I mention already that this case is dirt-cheap ? The Silent Storm case is definitely worth considering when you are on the market for a new well ventilated casing.

Definitely recommended.

We'd like to thank Sunbeamtech for submitting the Silent Storm ATX case for a review.
