Age/Occupation/Location?
Just turned 18 on the 16th of March. I'm a notebook assembler for ITC. I live in Perth, Western Australia

( Hilbert - same BD as me .. yay ! )

How long have you been a member of Guru3D forums?
Not too long - a couple of months

What did you first come here for?
Help!! but only at first. Then I realised it was a really helpful forum with lots of cool people.

What do you mainly use the system for?
Mainly gaming, I listen to a lot of music and browse the web a lot. Oh and of course the forums.

How much did you spend on the rig?
I was lucky with everything accept the graphics card. The mobo, CPU and RAM I got from work. It was a server for voype I think. I got all that for about 300 Australian. The case I also got from work, lol. Brand new for 190 australian. The graphics card was a huge rip off! I was getting a card before Christmas (so I decided) and this was the only thing I could get a week before Christmas. So i got it for 390. :O Sux to be me. All up about 1000.

How often do you update/buy a new rig?
Not very often. I never buy a whole new rig. I just update.

What components are used (including any overclocks) ?
Coolermaster Wavemaster case with 6 coolermaster case fans.
Coolermaster fan controller. looks nice :)
GT-R 450W LE
Gigabyte GA-7VM400am
Athlon 2800+ locked so no overclocks unfortunately but am open to any easy suggestions ;)
Geforce 5900xt (Forsa) running at 450/830 with my beasty cooling mod. I used a ThermalTake UFO CPU cooler.
Seagate 40 and 80 gig 7200rpm hdd full to the brim :(
Standard sony dvd reader and sony dvd burner
Dual 17 CTR monitors. They look nice on flight simulator.
Logitech z340 speakers in custom bass box.

Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel/AMD?
Nvida coz the TI series rocked! What a let down when I got the FX! And AMD coz it was there at the time. But very happy now.

Does the system work as expected?
Perfect! Hardware wise it's a gem.

What's the best part of your rig?
My temps! Nah, it would have to be the mobo and CPU.

What sucks and should not have been bought?
Def. the Geforce.

Modified cases/video cards/other? Did you do it yourself? Walk us through it.
I drilled a hole in the side of my case for my fan and graphics card cooling mod.

3DMark scores?
3dmark 2001: 15000
3dmark 2003: 5400
3dmark 2005: *owned* 1124
Aquamark: 47000

Future upgrades?
Definitely a 6600GT. Giving Nvidia another chance coz they have always been so good to me. From spending months trying to get my MX400 to run Mafia to HL2 running sweet. I think the 6600GT will treat me well.
