Gaming

How much did you spend on the rig?
Roughly around 1200-1300 total

How often do you update/buy a new rig?
When I’m not satisfied with some part of my rig.

What components are used?
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
MSI Neo2 Platinum
512x2 Corsair XMS 3200C2PRO Rev4.1(TCCD)
PNY 6800GT w/ Zalman VF700c
Audigy 2 ZS
OCZ 450w ModStream
Antec Super LanBoy
Thermalright XP90 w/ 92mm Panaflo M1A

Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel/AMD?
Nvidia with AMD, perfect combo for gaming.
Nuff said.

Does the system work as expected?
For the most part yes, and I just wish the memory controller on the chip was able to allow 4 dimms, and not run at 2T or be downclocked to 333mhz.

What's the best part of your rig?
Gaming on it!! I don’t play as many games as I wish I could due to school. But whenever I do get a chance to load up America’s Army, Far Cry, or Swat 4, I always have a blast!

What sucks and should not have been bought?
My intake and exhaust fans, They are made by Aerocool and are not that bad but I will soon replaced them with some Panaflo H1A’s or M1A’s.

Modified cases/video cards/other? Did you do it yourself? Walk us through it.
Antec Super LanBoy, replaced stock “silent” fans with 2 120mm Aerocool fans that push more cfm’s. Added Zalman VF700c (AS5) to my 6800GT to reduce temps it works great!! The rig was built by me and turned out to be a great success.

Future upgrades?
Currently looking for a new processor, possibly a new RevE, or keep my current Cpu and go with a custom Water Cooling Setup.
