 Radeon HD 6950 & 6970 review

By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by Syed Mohammad | Published: December 15, 2010

AMD Radeon HD 6900 series

Aah December, the month full of surprises, presents and well... good times. Christmas time is and always has been a good excuse to purchase expensive computer hardware of course -- come on admit it. Yeah, December is the main reason why graphics cards manufacturers love to release their more high-end offerings. See, people are willing to spend a little extra as Hey... it's the Christmas spirit and mom, girlfriend or wifey tends to look the other way -- which we all know will cost you a very expensive present in return :)

High-end and expensive kit it is then, NVIDIA just outted their GeForce GTX 570 and 580 but the majority of you guys put their purchase tickle at a halt as AMD still had to release what was named as their "Cayman" series graphics cards. Yes Sir, the all new high-end segmented Radeon HD 6950 and 6970...

Well, today is the day, after a handful of delays it's here and ready to await our and your approval.

We have a lot to talk about. Of course we'll be discussing the new GPU embedded on these graphics cards in detail, we'll talk about power consumption, heat and noise but obviously we are just very curious where we'll be able to position the two cards compared to NVIDIA's latest to see where they stand in terms of price and performance. Next to that, we really want to find out of the two cards released today are in fact a good margin faster than the way cheaper Barts series (Radeon HD 6800) graphics cards.

Ya'll ready then? Good, let's startup the Radeon HD 6950 and 6970 review, of course have a peek at that black & red digital muscle and then head on over to the next page please.
