Today dear friends we are going to review a graphics card from Prolink, a graphics card with the longest name ever. It'll be the first product that we'll review for them and hopefully not the last. Prolink is reaching more and more ground lately and certainly almost all of you have heard about them. They offer a wide variety and range of products from LCD screens, PDA peripherals, diverse multimedia products in their PlayTV series and of course a very extensive graphics cards lineup.

The product we will be reviewing today is based on the nVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 series, produced around a GPU that is profiled as Cinematic GPU as it is capable of bringing cinematic visual effects on your PC with the combination of some brutal power and an excellent featureset. The CineFX GPU is of course a capable of utilizing DirectX9 Pixel Shaders 2.0+, Vertex Shader 2.0+ and OpenGL. Basically this product is in the mid-end range and offers with it's cut-down 4 pixel pipeline a lot of value for your money.

In the GeForce FX 5600 range Prolink offers not less than 5 models:

1. MVGA-NVG31AL(W/256M,VIO,DVI,Ultimate)[Golden Limited]
2. MVGA-NVG31AL(W/256M,VIO,DVI,Ultimate)
3. MVGA-NVG31AL(W/256M,VIO,DVI)
4. MVGA-NVG31AL(W/128M,VIO,DVI)
5. MVGA-NVG31AL(W/128M,TV,DVI)

As you can see two 128 MB models and three 256 MB models. Within that range the differences can be found in different clocked memory and VIVO (Video in and out function) as noted above. We will be testing the top of the line product within this range, the PixelView GeForce FX5600 256 MB Ultimate, Golden Limited. A full DirectX 9 compatible product for an excellent price. The product is default clocked at 325 MHz on the core and 600 MHz for it's memory which is 100 MHz higher then default specification. Of course this is due to the fact that the Golden Limited model has faster DDR memory rated 3.3ns

There is also an additional reason why Prolink decided to name this product the 'Golden Limited'. In the upcoming pages you'll see photo's a a very unconventional coolling mechanism, it's color .. gold. Combine that with the fact that the cooling used is silent and the fact that this product can handle video in and out over Svideo and composite and you have quite a nice card below the 200 USD range.
