 Ozone SMOG gaming mouse review

By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by Joshua Finger | Published: November 20, 2009

The Verdict

The Ozone SMOG is obviously one of many gaming mouse's out there. It however does stand out from the crown and can be positioned in a somewhat more high-end segment totally catered to gamers. The mouse is not just aesthetically pleasing, it's ergonomically pleasing as well. It fits really well in your hand, though might been seen as a little bulky. So if you are not a kid or someone with small hands, this one will definitely work out for you.

Then of course there's the plethora of functions you receive as extra -- DPI selector, it is programmable, is weight adjustable, cloth-braided USB cord, the MACRO modes and extended buttons much like the scroll wheel which not only functions as up/down/press, but also handles left and right movement, excellent to program strafe modes for by the way.

The one downside to the mouse has to be that the plastics seems a little static and lures in dust. You've been able to see that in the photo-shoot. No biggie though, clean it up every once in a while.

The overall design feels a little alien (in a good sense) the LEDs really lift up the spirit. Also when the mouse is not in use, the LEDs will dim in/out giving it a rather mysterious look.

As always I find reviewing a mouse a somewhat subjective task to do I'd like to say that this is a sturdy, high precision mouse that offers great flexibility whether that's for normal desktop usage or gaming.

Bottom line: There's honestly not much to dislike at all. Given the sheer ergonomics, cool looks and versatility we would definitely like to recommend this mouse -- though currently only available in the EU.
