Without further ado ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the Avatar. NZXT, the folks that market and produce hardcore gaming chassis for you guys, are expanding their market. It's one of very few companies solely focusing on gaming products and they have been doing that with success.

The avatar is a high styled design mouse that comes with DPI switching (4 levels), customization including macros and 9 customizable buttons, Teflon mouse feet and well... the looks to die for really.

The mouse comes with an installation CD and takes mere moments to get up and running. Using the provided software you can program the several buttons, adjust the sensitivity and set the scroll wheel speed among other things.

The button on top of the mouse you can find the most important feature as it allows you to switch from 650 dpi mode to no less than 2600 which in-game is a more reactive mode for FPS firefights while a lower DPI value gives you more precise control, for those sniper situations I so much like to play in. Should you forget which DPI mode you're in, the mouse's scroll wheel LED lights will shine and allow you to recognize your DPI setting.

The mouse has a 2600 DPI Optical Sensor, LED DPI indicator and a whopping 5.8 Mega Pixels/second with a maximum (and forgive me to always fall back in graphics card lingo) frame rate of 6469 frames per second. Hah ! you wish Crysis could be rendered with this mouse eh ?

According to the spec sheet the response time should be less than 1ms. This, along with the a 16-bit wide data path, means the Stinger can track up to 43 inches per second. Ehm hum yeah .. we'll just take that for granted if you don't mind.

High-end gear comes at a price though, prepare to cough up  €44.95 / 59 USD for it. But is it worth that money then ? Let's have a look.
