 NoiseBlocker Cool Scraper 120 review

Noise Blocker Cool Scraper 120 v2 review

Quite tall, and heavy; the Cool Scraper weighs merely 600 grams (fan included). That's quite heavy, however not an issue.

The Coolscraper 120 is a fairly tall cooler with a copper base with a heatpipe connected that leads all the way downwards to the copper CPU block. The fins on the heatsink are colossal and there's simply a lot of them, providing a massive area for heat to be absorbed from.

The top and sides of the heatsink have attached plastic shrouds to direct any air straight over the large fins therefore taking away more heat than if the air was allowed to flow where it wished. A nice feature with these however, is that if you remove these and the supplied fan, you can run the Coolscraper passively. Removing these plastic strips means that air from anywhere can flow freely over the heatsink increasing its cooling power under passive conditions.

Oh, and the big chrome button in the middle? Well, instead of having several small heatpipes that run from the core up through the fins, this one has one massive heatpipe that leads straight downwards to the CPU block.
