MSI N465GTX Twin Frozr II review

Product Gallery GeForce GTX 465

We start off with the box and bundle. As you can see, Twin Frozr II is clearly marked on the box.

Included in the bundle you'll find the regulars, like connector converter, 6-pin PEG power headers, manual and driver CD. The value you'll gain doesn't come from a free game, but from the customized design, cooler and things like AfterBurner overclock support.

Above the GeForce GTX 465 as presented by MSI. Everybody will agree with me here, it really is a nice-looking card design. MSI applied their military class component strategy again, meaning only the very best components are used on the PCB. This should help on overall heat levels, lifespan but also tweakability.

The Twin Frozr II edition card is targeted at an MSRP of roughly 289 USD it packs 1024MB of gDDR5 memory, its core frequency is clocked at 607 MHz, its shader processors at 1215 MHz and that memory at 3200 MHz (data-rate).

The TDP is a little lower opposed to its big brother at 200 Watts, which still somewhat on the high side compared to an R5830 rated at 175W.. Overall, a nice dark themed looking card.

A very clean backside, it's interesting to see that the new reference models all have a gap in the PCB at the cooler location, likely drawing some more cold air into the cooler. The cooler itself is not at all noisy even under high load. We'll check that out in our tests later on though.
