The review

KuFormula VF1 Plus VGA card cooler

This time around we have a product from Sytrin for review, a cooler for VGA cards. Let's have a look at this weird looking gadget.

The KuFormula VF1 Plus.

Manufacturer: Sytrin (www.sytrin.com)
Product: KuFormula VF1 Plus
Price range: $36.99 (from PriceGrabber.com)

An area that concerns most of the people here is the cooling of their card. More speed means more heat, so companies are trying to find ways to cool down the cards enough to allow them to work efficiently and without problems (as much as possible :P). Users though, have another tendency now... To overclock their cards as much as possible, which produces even more heat! Companies are trying to battle that with heat pipes, heat exhaust systems and more airflow.

Sytrin has updated their VF1 card cooler (which uses an axial blow fan) with a cross-blow fan, and it is now called the Plus version. The cooler package includes a cross-blow fan, a heatsink, 8 RAM sinks, a speed selection switch, the necessary kit for installing the cooler on a range of cards (ranging from nVIDIA MX cards to the latest 7800 series and from ATi Radeon 9xxx up to the X1k series) and a small manual that covers the installation.
The heatsink is made out of a copper base with aluminum fins that utilizes two heat pipes to transfer heat from the base to the fins.

The graphics cards supported are:

nVIDIA:

  • Geforce MX Series
  • Geforce Ti4*** Series
  • Geforce FX**** Series
  • Geforce 6200 Series

**WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BFG 7800 GS AGP**

 ATi:

**WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE Asus A9600GE**
