 JETART VC2600 & VC3600 VGA coolers

By: George Panayiotou Edited by  | Published: June 19, 2006

Performance

Lets get on to how good this cooler cools the card. Just like with its little brother, CounterStrike Source (one map with HDR used once, 1 map with no HDR used twice) with, 3D Mark 2006 and Half Life: Lost Coast was used. Room temp was around 26c (with the help of an A/C unit). Idle temp was at around 56c when the PC was booted. After some time, it went up to 57c.

In CounterStrike Source, the card went up to 74c during the map with HDR and then went lower during maps with no HDR.

In Lost Coast, it is the same thing as the CSSource going up to 75c, since it uses the Source HDR like CounterStrike Source.

In 3DMark2006, the card was a degree lower, at 73c.

For a small comparison, the Sytrin VF1 Plus which was reviewed before, did a max of 59c in CounterStrike Source (same maps as the VC coolers.) Apologies for not using the reference cooler, as i don't have it anymore. But I do know that the reference was warmer than the VF1 one. Also, the VF1 Plus was running at the "high" RPM setting, which that did give it a lot of cooling power, but also more noise than the VC coolers.

Well now .. it's time for the verdict ! Next page please ...
