Inno3D GeForce 9800 GTX Overclock Edition review

The Verdict

Yeah I like it. Now in this day and era the conclusion obviously is more complicated. The product as tested today will cost you roughly the same as the new 9800 GTX+, yet this one comes with a nice bundle. What about the cheaper Radeon HD 4850 you ask ? Valid question. For me it's simple, both products are just really competitive to each other.

So the weigh in. The ATI cards get hot, the NV cards have the better cooling solution. So cooling and temperature wise you just have to like the GeForce 9800 GTX. Face it it's just much better at it. Performance wise, both are roughly equal, yet slightly ahead is the Radeon. NV has DX10, ATI has DX 10.1 And next to all that there's just your preference ... some people like ATI cards others NVIDIA. Do what you need to do, choose what you need to choose .. really it is your money. All I am saying is that the 9800 GTX after the price-fall offer really good value for money. And mark my words, the 9800 GTX will fall in price even more in the upcoming weeks. It's a great time to be buying a card in the mid-range segment right now, that's for sure.

As stated, this GTX OC version from Inno3D will match the GTX+ performance wise. Yet we where able to clock some more performance out of it, again value. Either way, you really can't go wrong and that's the bold truth. I really like the fact that inno3D started bundling games with their products, and what a great title to include as well, Company of Heroes, Opposing fronts.

I think Inno3D does a superb job with their product line. With the 9800 GTX OC edition, Inno3D brought a great product to the market, with the extra game full game you'll retrieve some additional value. And that coupled with the recent price fall in the NVIDIA GTX series ... you really can't go wrong here and you'll love playing the latest games with it.
