 Icy Dock MB559US-1S review

By: Ian Edited by  | Published: October 14, 2006

The Verdict

I had lots of fun putting the MB559 through hell and it took everything I could throw at it and came back for more. It's well made and very easy to use plus it looks good too. Just see how its Aluminium side covers match up with my Thermaltake Aluminum case. Yes I have a weakness for Aluminium.

The price is right at just 59.99 USD and you get everything you need to run it right out of the box. You can get the ICY DOCK MB559 as a Firewire 400 + USB 2.0 Combo. Or you can get the one I tested which was the MB559 eSATA + USB 2.0 Combo.  The only bad thing I found was the power connector on the back of the unit. The connector does not plug in very far and pops out easy if you move the MB559 too much. Other than that I would say ICY DOCK makes a good external drive for the price. It's not much bigger than the hard drive installed inside of it so it's easy to take anywhere.

That concludes this review of the ICY DOCK MB559.

I would like to thank the people at ICY DOCK for the chance to review this product since the MB559 was a lot of fun and worked so well.
