One of the finest aesthetically pleasing products tested today is Coolermasters latest offering, the Z600. Passively this big monster can draw 90 Watts of heat (don't hold me to that number though). But we'll put passive testing to the test today as well.

Anyway, look at that design, just beautiful. The standard version costs 40 EUR for that money unfortunately you however do not get any fans included, which quite honestly is a bit of a disappointment. The cooler itself has no less than six heatpipes and weighs in at roughly one kilogram. The heatpipes come together at a copper based block which is nickel plated.

Fantastic design, though very bulky and heavy for sure.

Installation

The fan will fit any modern CPU socket. The installation of the cooler-master product is sadly enough aggravating. If you go for socket 775 retention brackets need to be mounted to the cooler itself, then you need to take out your mainboard as a back plate needs to be mounted, you pretty much will be sifting trough a dozen of little screws and components. Also to be able to mount the redetection bracket to the cooler, you needs a special model Philips screwdriver, as a regular will not fit, these screws are too small. Gear we obviously have in our lab ... but you at home ? I doubt it. Though the Coolermaster Z600 is probably one of the finest looking coolers tested today, it's installation is something CM must work on and improve. It needs to be simplified.

On the positive side, should you opt to get a fan installed, small brackets are included to easily connect them to the cooler. But again I find it a bit of bad taste that no fan is included at default.

The looks and feel of the Z600 are quite something else. Definitely the most bulky yet gorgeous one of the batch.

According to CM the cooling block is nickel, plated, under is a copper base.

Just be sure you have plenty of space in your PC, this fracker is big man ..
