The moment the entire graphics industry was waiting for is here, last week after a delay or 200 one of the biggest titles in the history of PC games was released by Valve, Half-Life 2. Copyright 2004 - Guru3D.comGameplay that should be extraordinary, sound that'll make you drool and a first time graphics experience that'll make the choice between doing the "thing" or playing this game a difficult one.

Gordon Freeman is back! Along with scientist Eli Vance and his daughter Alyx, your mission is to save the planet from total alien supremacy. See, that petite incident in Black Mesa was just the beginning: now those pesky Xen invaders and a new threat called the Combine have spread across the whole Earth, causing massive amounts of death and destruction. It’s up to you to set things right.

But is Half-Life 2 all that we expected it to be?

Recently we installed three new game-reviewers here at Guru3D.com, all three of them have a mission for this article.

One of them will handle a little technical insight and background on the graphics engine and the two others were told to both write a review on this game. So basically you do not have one review today, no you have a side by side comparison between the reviews.

Confusing? Not at all... enjoy our new game review  Half-Life 2 is a game I am sure most regular computer users are aware of. It is a game that has been worked on for quite a long time and after no less then a tiresome 5 years it has become available to the general public to play and enjoy (although some would never believe the day would actually come).

For those that remembered playing the original Half-Life, they remember that it was a game that ventured into new frontiers of graphics, gameplay, and AI. So for the last 5 years, the question has been whether Half-Life 2 will live up to all the hype, and follow its predecessor in becoming one of the best FPS's available for the PC. That question has finally been answered, however instead of telling you, the reader, right now, how about we cover some of the basics of the game.
