By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by Eddy | Published: July 16, 2011

Rig of the Month February 2011

Starting July 2011 the winner of the months Rig of the Month will receive an OCZ Technology Vertex 3 120GB SSD delivered for free at it's doorsteps as a nice incentive. OCZ designed the Vertex 3 to push the limits in both sequential and random read/write rates to blaze past the competition when every MB/s matters. With incredible 4k file writes up to 85,000 IOPS, these latest drives take productivity, gaming, and multimedia applications to the next level to work in perfect symmetry with the latest enthusiast platforms. If you liek performance, how does Max Reads up to 550MB/s and max Write: up to 500MB/s sound ?

Each month here at Guru3D.com we feature one of you guys, your PC, your DIY project. It is quite honestly amazing how much detail and dedication you put into an PC, and every now and then it really shows. This months entry oozes in style, money spent and flamboyance. For 2011 we upped the prize that you can win a little.

The rig of the Month July 2011 is absurd. A Dutch guy pretty much transformed one room and a desk into a big PC. Everything you are about to see us customized, he built a table, he places radiators under the housing of the floor and has gotten everything liquid cooled with only the best gear. And then when you look at the finished product .. all you can say is WOW -- that's a guarantee.

A good chunk of money was spend on this setup, luckily he got sponsored a little as otherwise this project would have been unaffordable.

Guys, meet Peter Brands from The Netherlands and his “L3p D3sk”, already working 8 months on this project, which we consider this to be art really.

Would you like to have your PC published? Check out the lower half of this landing page and read what is required.

Meet the Guru3D rig of the month winner:

1. What is your name / nickname /age / occupation?

I got the name leprechaun 13 years ago when I started online gaming that slowly changed to L3p. So the systems name became “L3p D3sk”

2. What did you first come here for?

Well for years I always came here to download drivers. Still do by the way. I'm only in the “modding” scene for 2 years now, after I started building “L3p D3sk” people seemed to like it a lot. So I started posting it on some well knows forums cause not everyone comes to the same forums. That’s how I ended up here

3. What do you mainly use the system for?

until 2 years ago, before I started water-cooling and modding, I was a real die-hard online gamer. When I bought a new system with an intel i7 940 and GTX295 I really hated the noise the pc made.

So kept trying to make the system more silent with watercooling. I didn’t care about the looks back then. Then I got addicted to nice looking watercooling. After I finished my complete tubeless “Corsair Underground” build I also needed a new desk and needed something new to build.

I was also very tired of constantly lifting the 35Kg 800D to change anything in the loop. So after I saw some desk builds I started drawing my own. So what do I use it for ? Till now nothing, been building for the full 8 months. I will enjoy gaming from now on though!
