Radeon HD 5770 SOC

First up, the photo-shoot. Okay, this is the part where we move away from the technical stuff for a minute and move on to the product photo-shoot followed by initial tests on heat, power consumption and noise levels.

We'll start off with the packaging and bundle, Gigabyte's bundle is a little sober. You need to seek the extras in the card itself. You'll receive:

  • One Radeon HD 5770 SOC with 1024MB GDDR5 memory
  • DVI to VGA dongle x 1
  • Crossfire bridge x 1
  • Manual
  • Driver CD
  • 6-pin PEG power converter

So as you can see, here we have the Radeon HD 5770 as supplied by Gigabyte. Quite an interesting product to look at really. Blue PCB, cool looking cooler with one 80mm fan and certainly some nice connectivity.

The Radeon HD 5000 series will obviously also be CrossfireX compatible. However here's where Gigabyte set a limitation, as only one CrossfireX connector can be found. That means a maximum of two cards can be set up in Multi-GPU mode. Typically we however do recommend you to not use more than two GPUs anyway, as drivers wise you'll quickly run into problems, let alone performance scaling becomes very inefficient.
