Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 SOC Review

Radeon HD 5770 SOC

Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 SOC - Super Overclock - GV-R577SO-1GD

Radeon HD 5770 SOCThe series 5000 cards from ATI have to be the best GPUs ATI has ever produced, to date. Any SKU derived from this family seems to be a success. Months and months have passed though, and with little to no stringent competition from NVIDIA, ATI seems to be in a comfort zone. They are not releasing any new products anytime soon and will simply sit back and relax, and wait until we reach Q3 or Q4 of this season.

That doesn't mean there is no innovation to be found; currently with time on their hands we see all the ODMs redesigning the PCBs, applying new coolers and suffice to say, they want to place improved SKUs on the market with more features and performance.

Today's tested product falls into that category, it is a mid-range product yet armed with a high-end concept. The end result is an improved Radeon HD 5770, a decent looking product, that we overclocked quite easily to 1000 MHz...  yeah, we just got your attention didn't we? Yes, today we'll have a peek at the latest and greatest from Gigabyte. In the SOC series (Super Overclock) they released this new SKU with custom PCB, custom components, custom cooler and custom voltage regulation management.

Oh and it's overclocked at default for you as well. Have a peek and then let's head onwards into the review.
