 GeForce GTX 295 single PCB review

 By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by Ian R. Barling & John A. Johnsen | Published: June 12, 2009

Point of View GeForce GTX 295 single PCB

Today's sample that we are testing comes from these wicked guys at Point of View. Point of View is established in the the very flat Netherlands, over the years they have grown in many ways and as such gained much popularity. They are known for their consistency, quality products, and the overclocked editions called EXO. They nearly always throw in a little extra inside that box like the hottest full game titles. If you look back say 3-4 years then there's nothing negative to report about this company and as you know, we work very closely with them. Good products, great after sales and excellent product bundling.

So the single PCB GeForce GTX 295 is one of the first samples they had in house, and well... we just had to nick it to be able to bring you guys a review. As such the artwork design might change a little bit as I think the fan will get another sticker or something, but really that's all. The product is reference clocked, which all cards actually will be. NVIDIA is limiting this SKU for all AIB/AIC partners, overclocked editions are, for whatever weird reason, not allowed. And as our own overclocking session will show... that does not make any sense. These cards are very tweakable.

Anyway, first impression, the card looks good. Proper design, I kind like the meshed design from the original GTX 295 a little better though.

The card has 240x2 Shader processors available at your disposal, comes at a 576 MHz reference core clock frequency, the shader processors are clocked at 1242 MHz and the 1792 MB of graphics memory is clocked at 999 MHz (= 1998 effective). The memory is configured with a 448-bit memory bus x2, of course.

GeForce GTX 295 Single PCB

Packaging and Accessories then, included in the box you'll find:

  • GeForce GTX 295 single PCB
  • Driver CD
  • 6-pin to Molex power cable
  • 8-pin to Molex power cable
  • Manual / quick install guide
  • VGA->DVI dongle
  • DVI->HDMI adapter
  • S/PDIF cable
  • Coupon for game discounts

The product bundle as always is good, everything needed is inside the box. There are no special items included like bundled full games, which was a first to see from Point of View. They always work closely with Ubisoft and usually get some awesome deals... ah well, so be it. The product comes with a three year full warranty on parts and labor.

But let's go in for a closer inspection, next page my man.
