So since we are looking at four different brands today, Let's first walk though them. We'll show them in alphabetical order. As such we'll be starting with BFG.

BFG GeForce GTX 275 OC edition

Obviously BFG is launching a GTX series 275. They shipped out their OC model, which in fact is the basic reference product. However, BFG always has a trick or two up their sleeves. This product is armed with slightly faster clock frequencies on all clockable domains inside the product (core/shaders/memory).

Ever since the past year or two BFG has been focusing more and more on their pre-overclocked products, and admittedly their speedbin has increased heaps meaning that at launch they already have cards in good volume available.

While we test their OC edition card, you can expect to see an OCX and perhaps even OC2 model soon as well. We just explained (previous page) to you that the GTX 275 comes at standard with a 630 MHz GPU, 1400 MHz on the shaders processors, 1135 MHz memory (GDDR3) x 2 (double data rate) = 2270 MHz.

With the OC model BFG bumps up the speed a little, your card will come clocked at 648 on thecore frequency. Then 1440 MHz on the shader processor domain and 1152MHz (2304 MHz effective) on that GDDR3 memory. These are slightly higher clocks all throughout the board. The trick here is that BFG does not charge you extra for this. This is their default product, the starter model .. giving them a little edge over other reference based products.

As stated I expect BFG to release three models, OC, OC2 and OCX we test the OC part.

Our benchmark tests will show, it's definitely a little faster than the reference product. Obviously BFG will sweeten the deal with some additional goodies and after-sales. Let's have a look at the boxed bundle.

Packaging and Accessories then, included in the box thy shall find:

Though the bundle is not exactly extravagant in terms of bundled items and software, the real value needs to be found in after-sales. Let's have a chat about warranty and BFG's trade-up program.

BFG will intro this product overclocked for you at default. Despite that it comes with the luxuries that they always offer. Inside the USA you'll receive a full life-time warranty, which is just a really nice feature. Outside the US you are limited to 10 years warranty; which is still bloody fantastic. Mind you that if you purchase a BFG product then please within 30 days register yourself at the BFG website in order to activate that warranty. This is a new policy recently introduced. Don't forget to do so.

BFG also has a Trade-Up program styled after eVGA. Up-to 100 days after the purchase of a new BFG graphics card you are eligible to trade in your graphics card for a newer model, you only pay the difference in cost.

Small side-note you need to be aware of, the value of the BFG graphics card you trade in will be based off of the pre-determined MSRP of the card in question at the time you apply for the trade-up so the value of your BFG product will probably be worth less after a few months.
