GeForce 8800 GT MAX with 1024 MB review

The Photos

On the next few pages we'll show you some photos. The images were taken at 2560x1920 pixels and then scaled down. The camera used was a Sony DCS-F707 5.1 MegaPixel.

Packaging, pretty standard. We show you these so you know what to look for in the store. Though your biggest problem will be to find this brand. Hopefully in time that'll change.

The card itself has a pretty nice design, I like the small intricacies to be found in different color PCB (though purple), non-standard cooling, little RAM sinks. What's not to like ?

Even on the backside we notice that the additional memory is being cooled & protected by a big metal shim.

The cooling unit is big. The two DVI ports support simultaneous HDCP and dual-link (meaning a possible resolutions up-to 2560 x 1600 with your bitching 30" monitor). This has been a possibility since NVIDIA's release of 65nm products and this is the second card in the series to boast this feature, others being incapable of the feat.

With the 7-pin HDTV-out mini-din, a user can plug an S-video cable directly into the connector, or use a dongle for YPrPb (component) or composite outputs. The prior 9-pin HDTV-out mini-din connector required a dongle to use S-video, YPrPb and composite outputs.
