Let me introduce to you today's contestants.
The eVGA e-Geforce 7800 GT Bundle
eVGA my friends, we haven't reviewed their cards for a long long time have we? Believe it or not but the last card we reviewed from them was the e-Geforce 4 MX 440, I actually had to look that up. Of course eVGA has a very good reputation and position, mostly in the USA. Known for their quality products and good customer support we of course gladly accepted their offer to review today's 7800 GT, I never expected to receive it before the actual launch of this new product series, though. With new dialog set up we can once again offer you their products reviewed here at Guru3D.com.
I have to say that eVGA is offering a lovely package here. Not loads of titles in terms of additional software, but the stuff that you do get is sweet and impressive. In the package you'll find a driver CD with some trial software and tools, Power Director
2.55 for all your director skills and this is where the value really kicks in: a free full version of the extremely popular Battlefield 2 game from EA Games. In the box you will find:
Driver CD
Power Director 2.55 (Cyberlink)
S-Video Cable
Conversion connecter Mini-Din to RCA
HDTV Output cable (RCA component)
DVI to VGA Adaptor (2x)
6-pin power connector cable
Next to the cool BF2 software title everything included for connectivity is also present, from S-Video composite cable to a HDTV component block. You can't deny that this is a good collection. Of course next to the bundle we'll find the GeForce 7800 GT card. I can be brief about this beautiful little beast. It's a 100% reference card with a eVGA plated cooler. eVGA will bring two solutions of the 7800 GT to the market, this version being the most interesting one as it comes pre-overclocked at 445 MHz on the core and 1070 on the memory. The other version is following reference clocks and will be released under their EGS logo.
Overall a really awesome package. The cooler surely is looking nice in the black design, wouldn't it be great to actually see this baby on a black PCB? One of the most notable and respectable things to keep in mind is that eVGA is offering a life-time warranty on the graphic card. Quite amazing.

eVGA 's included bundle of software and cabling.
Point of View GeForce 7800 GT Bundle

Armed with an amazing software bundle and the almost fastest card to date available, Point of View is offering a really nice package as well. Just like their GTX product they offer. The software bundle (this can differ per country though) is well stacked and 100% targeted at gaming with a luxurious 3 full games included, good titles too with the hottest one being Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory. This is the entire bundle:
- Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory
- Far Cry
- Thief (Deadly Shadows)
- S-Video Cable
- RCA Cable
- Conversion connecter Mini-Din to RCA
- HDTV Output cable (RCA component & Video/Svideo inputs)
- DVI to VGA Adaptor
6-pin power connector
The Point of View card comes with 3 years warranty, compared to the life-time warrantee from eVGA that seems short, but really I'll happily take three years warrantee over the normal standard one year warranty. I have a lot of respect for companies that offer additional care like this.
Speaking of the devil, once again we see a 100% reference card and a 100% reference cooler. At the time of this writing I'm still awaiting Point of View plating as the cooler will have some sort of point of view sticker on it. The card is clocked according to reference specifications at 400 MHz on the core and 1053 MHz for it's memory which is a slightly above the reference clock. Basically this baby is in many ways similar to the reference sample.

Point of View is doing it right, lot's of games and accessories.
The Reference Geforce 7800 GT Bundle
NVIDIA reference design came with no games, no warrantee and no accessories. It comes in a white box with the card wrapped on bully plastic. I can tell that the card is a 100% reference design with a 100% reference cooler though. The core is clocked at 400 MHz and it's GDDR3 memory is 2ns clocked at 2x500 MHz. :)
But guys honestly, reference cards to me remain the coolest... ;)
