Graphics & Sound

When you launch the game for first time or when you install new drivers, you will be prompted with the configuration screen to configure your graphics and sound options. Antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, refresh rate, sound device, 3D sound options are all there within the game configuration.

There is nothing to scream about here. Graphics are not bad. Cars are modeled properly, damage looks real. You even get to see the engine radiator and propeller fan cooling the radiator when your hood flies away. The environment and world created is ok. It's not something really drastically different than the games we saw in the past. The best thing about graphics is the damage modeling. It's almost perfect. You can see even the finest dent due to small nudge. Your hood will disintegrate, glass will shatter and the trunk door will fly away when damaged. It's all real. Then you have rag-doll physics for the poor driver who gets thrown out of the car way too many times. The graphics are made more effective by some very good physics effects. When you crash into something that thing will break, for example a wooden fence will break throwing pieces onto track. These effects makes the game a good graphical game. The crashes are simply spectacular. Overall a good game when it comes to graphics. When it comes to game sound it's again nothing special but not that bad. Engine sounds good. When you hit someone else you can tell how hard you hit him from the sound of damage. But then again built in game sound tracks are nothing special. But it may be a personal choice. The obvious comparison one makes is with the NFSU series. The series has set some tough quality standards, which are hard to beat. This game sound is nothing compared to the NFSU series. Not even close. This is one of the games that cash in more on the game play experience and less on other fronts.
