 EZ PowerSupply Tester 2

The Verdict

Right time to round up this little review. The tester works as promised, unfortunately I do not have any defective PSU's lying around, otherwise it would have been fun to see which rails would have been broken.

The tester in its most simple form is nothing more then a tester, so it does as what is promised and nothing more then that. Something I would have liked to see would be fault tolerance. Let's say the 12 volts rail is off by 10%, then a disabled or red colored LED or beep would be awesome wouldn't it? 13 volts can kill your hard earned gear for sure. So basically what this device will do is check whether the rail is active, yes or no and that's pretty much it. But hey, this little gadget is roughly 15 bucks (USD) device so we can't expect miracles from it of course.

The half hour that I spend with is was well spent, and yes I will be using this device in the future as it's one of these handy little things to have lying around. One point of attention though, don't let the test run for hours, turn off the PSU after you are finished with your tests. The PSU is sending its lovely AMPS to the device and this little unit needs to comprehend all that current. Therefore after a few minutes the device will get a little warm. Nothing to worry about really. Same goes for your PSU, it can't deliver it's payload now can it? So use it for testing, but nothing more.

CaseBuy's EZ Power Supply Tester Verion 2 is very effortless to use and it will advise you if you are getting power on a rail. Don't expect it to do any more than that. The concept and design of the EZ Power Supply tester version 2 is simple and efficient. It's has a nice design and seems to be well built. All important connectors leading from your PSU can be checked properly and most of all quickly. It's a swift and handy gadget for those that have a need for it.

Definitely recommended for your average small and quick PSU tests.
