Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt PSU review

The Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt and it's standard cardboard box. I'm missing the sticker, mid-end, high-end products that EnerMax always had on their PSU's. Although there is one that stated 1000W Quad PCI_Express EXTREME. Well that should get you a pretty good impression of what's inside that box.

Also a sticker with the power distribution explained, which  immediately makes the consumer very clear on what he or she is buying.

If you look at the label closely you'll notice that the PSU can peak at 1000 Watts, but if you add up the numbers ... it's even higher. Now that's power !

The power supply comes with a power cable, mounting screws, manual, and pouch for all the modular cables. The PSU can accept 110 (USA) and 230 volts (Europe).

A soft pouch is included for all the modular cables you don't use. A good way to keep the unused cables organized. Enermax will include several sets of cables.

  1. 3x SATA
  2. 3x 4 Pin Molex cabled with 3 molexes per cable
  3. 1x PCI-Express (two already mounted onto PSU)
  4. 2x 4 Pin Molex + FDD connector
  5. 2x2 12V for Future Quad CPU systems

Right then, the heart of the package, the PSU. It's nicely coated with a black metallic paint. On the upper side of the photo we see a grill for optimal airflow, behind it a 120mm fan. It's a smart fan so when there is low load you'll hardly hear it.
