 Electronic Arts Battlefield 2

In addition to this the forces are now evenly matched. In previous games there were some maps which were biased to 1 team. In BF1942 there were way too powerful Panzer tanks in your arsenal that were many times too much for the Shermans. This time around the squads are pretty well matched, creating a fair environment.

There are few critical changes that can be seen here. The sniper is not as powerful, no 1 shot kill weapon in this game. It usually takes 2 rounds to kill the enemy. So snipers can no longer run through the enemy like it used to in earlier Battlefield games or even any other game. Some weapons seem a little underpowered. Especially the anti-armor soldier who has a powerful anti-tank rocket, but a very weak gun. Also this rocket does not destroy the tank in 1 hit. It takes 3-4 hits with the rockets. So in single loadout he can kill only 1 tank and 1 support vehicle before needing to reload from supplies.

Also these rockets should usually be as lethal on the ground too. But rockets exploding near you does not harm you very much. Only a direct hit of a rocket kills you, which is not how it should be. Also grenades feel underpowered. On the opposite side medics get a nice gun, which is very accurate and can shoot over a long distance. The bots are much better than what we have seen in past. At least they obey orders to attack some position. But still they can be dumb. Especially when they are operating vehicles. They will simply run you down with a tank or hit you with their vehicle and kill you. And they say "Sorry chief" or "Sorry sir, I screwed up". But they will not stop or go around you. They will run over you every single time.

The game is completely unscripted even in offline single player mode. Every time you play the game it's guaranteed to be different. Complete random nature adds to replay value in single player mode as well. The one disappointing thing is a very limited number of maps. The game ships with only 12 maps. Though this is not problem for playing online it may become boring after a while in single player mode. But there are variety of maps from small to big.
