I have to start with this as well, I am a Guru (self-proclaimed) you know, and the Stinger mouse actually comes with on-board memory. I know it's not a lot, 8KB. But there's RAM memory in a mouse these days ? It can be utilized to save macros & preferences which can be recorded and set to any of six customizable buttons with the help of a macro profile. You get three separate profiles, reachable with the push of a button. The Stinger gives the possibility 18 onboard macros at any one time which is a lot of flexibility. We'll get into that later though. The Cyber Snipa Stinger comes with an installation CD and takes mere moments to get up and running. Using the provided software you can program the several buttons, adjust the sensitivity and set the scroll wheel speed among other things.

The button on top of the mouse you can find the most important feature as it allows you to switch from 400 dpi mode to no less than 3200dpi which in-game is a a more reactive mode for FPS firefights while a lower DPI value gives you more precise control, for those sniper situations I so much like to play in. Should you forget which DPI mode you're in, the mouse's scroll wheel LED lights will shine and allow you to recognize your DPI setting.

According to the marketing specs of CyberSnipa the gaming rated laser engine operates at over 7,000 frames per second and thus as explained comes with a maximum of 3,200 dpi. According to the same sheet the response time should be less than 1ms! This, along with the a 16-bit wide data path, means the Stinger can track up to 45 inches per second. Ehm hum yeah .. we'll just take that for granted if you don't mind.

A weird to encounter feature is weight distribution of the mouse. Now in Formula 1 racing you balance the car for aerodynamic and optimal down force so I'm really not sure what to make of this for a mouse. The weight is customizable; included are 7x20g which you can place inside the mouse.
