 Creative Labs I-Trigue 3300 Speakers

By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by  | Published: January 21, 2003

Listening
There is only one way to review speakers properly of course and that's listening. Now before I start rambling I of course must state that sound is very .. no extremely subjective. What I believe can be a wonderful sound in your ears can be horrid. Therefore if you plan on buying speakers ask to actually listen to them !

My personal flavor in sound is a deep clear bass, average mid and high range of treble. Now I have listened to these speakers a lot the past couple of days and found them very good. The bass from the subwoofer is really deep, it lacks to be a little dynamic though. It's hard, rough and can pound for sure. The treble from the aluminum speakers is extremely good, crystal sharp and high treble is what you hear. You can pitch the treble so darn high that it will become actually uncomfortable for your ears, a very high range which I think is a result of the choice in aluminum drivers. There is one bump though, if you listen to the 'mid' range of sound (voices) then it lacks a little. It's still very acceptable but the voice when someone is singing sounds a little flat. Most of this can be filtered in/out by equalizing sound though. Overall, the I-Trigue really impressed me.

Conclusion
What a surprise eh ? No benchmarks ;) Seriously, lets sum it all up to a conclusion. As stated rating speakers is a really hard thing to do. Sound is subjective and what one things is dreadful might be heaven to someone else, so therefore this conclusion is based on my experience and my findings.

The speakerset most definitely is a looker. Do not expect huge miracles soundwise from it. Overall, the sound is very good though, a deep bass powered by the subwoofer in combination with triple titanium drivers in each satellite produce a very clear and good sound if you want to it can go loud also. You can easily tease your neighbors with this set. You likely will be impressed. Your music will sound great and your games excellent. Just don't expect surround sound or blasphemic DVD playback though. This set was made pure and simple for two reasons. Good sound quality in a niche jacket and it succeeds in it very well. Furthermore we end with the price, the recommended/suggested retail price for this product is 119 Euro which in my eyes is a very good price for this product.

Two thumbs up from this editor.
