Now the guys from UPS know us all too well. They are here pretty much daily and are used to deliver a thing or two alright, but this package weighs in at roughly 30 KG and sure... it's big! Suffice to say, UPS didn't look too happy -- but we sure did.

There we have it, the Obsidian 800D is packaged in Styrofoam and once unpacked you'll notice that the more critical damage points have received a little extra care in order to prevent it from scratches and such. I know I know; that doesn't look very sexy though...

...but this surely does. All nekkid, look at the darkness that is the Obsidian 800D. A massive full tower. As you can see, up to five external 5.25” drives can be placed in this chassis and a total of six 5.25” bays. The uppermost bay next to the power button actually holds front panel connectors behind a little door.

If you look a little more carefully you'll notice a little door in the lower segment, behind it are four 3.5” bays in a rack that can be accessed via a panel in the door -- these are hot swappable bays, we'll show you those later on. Please spot the left side viewing window. The door itself is steel and painted in the same textured black paint as the rest of the body. The window style is simple, big enough... looks good and helps you in showing off and pimping 'the goods'.

The front panel, however, is a plastic structure with black, brushed aluminum panels to make the look and feel complete. As you can see in the photo, the color theme is absolutely the same but the bezel has a slightly different tint.
