Computex 2008: Day 3 - The man with the hammer

HIS technology

Our good review partner HIS were also present at the Computex, showing of their latest gear. Everybody was a bit bummed about the fact they were not allowed to show the Radeon series 4000 to the public. Ah well, another week or two before that cat is out of the bag.

HIS definitely had some interesting stuff to show. Here for example external graphics units you can use to connect a second monitor, decode your video over etc etc

Of course on display, CrossfireX. Gosh it reminds me of my first experiences with CrossfireX ... the wires man.

Here we have a IceQ3 based Radeon HD 3870 ... wanna know what is so special about it? Look closer .. it's an AGP version. So people with that Pentium 4 and an AGP port still can get very decent graphics. Though AMD currently lacks good driver support for that.

Pretty hard to spot, but this card had a Displayport, something that's slowly starting to show on graphics cards. It seems that HDMI is not kicking in as well. The majority of cards shown all had dual DVI with an exception here and there.
