Computex 2008: Day 3 - The man with the hammer

GEIL memory solutions

Later in the day we bumped into the guys from GEIL. As usual they had all kinds of memory on display, among it DDR3 running at 2000+ MHz speeds. But also at the GEIL stand they showed some prototypes of memory coolers, just like we have shown you at the booth from A-data. I believe these two booths where like 50 meters away from each other, are they keeping an eye on each other ?

The cooler is called the EVO Cyclone (hey I don't make that stuff up man). Admittedly it is looking pretty cool and does help with overclocking the memory (a little). The fan actually emits LED lit text, and will display stuff like temps and so on. Pretty hip & trendy.

Told ya I didn't lie about the name ;)

So if I remember correctly they where using DDR2 800 overclocked to 1066, aah I dunno, probably even higher, obviously they kicked in the best specced RAM. Anyway, I guess it's safe to say this year we'll be seeing memory cooling a bit more than usual this year. It's a new trend.
