X3D were on hand promoting their gaming glasses.  I must say, Mechwarrior 3 looked pretty good.  It gave you that ‘I am piloting this Mech’ feel.  The same feel didn’t really come out with Vice City too well.  I guess it would work best on First Person Shooters, rather than Third person.  They also had a one handed controller available.  It performed the very complicated control scheme of Mechwarrior 3 in one device.  The glasses come in wired and wireless models, and are packaged with 25 games.  It is available now. Their representative is a frequent Guru visitor.

Across the way from them was PCE or Personal Computing Environment.  (http://www.mypce.com) It was basically an all in one ergonomic computing space designed for the professional and gamer alike.  The model they had on hand was still the preproduction model.  It didn’t have adjustable seats as well as keyboard and mouse platforms.  I got a chance to sit down and play a quick round of Unreal Tournament 2oo3.  It was very comfortable, despite the lack of adjustability, (it will be available on the production models) so playing a round wasn’t exactly easy.  I must admit though, it did feel very comfortable.  If it is equipped with a mini-fridge (which it can be) and a toilet bowl, then, I don’t think anyone would ever get up.  These units are highly customizable, as I mentioned, they can pretty much put on what ever you want on it.  It also has support for 4 monitors, as well as provisions for your speakers.  It is very large, and as such, packs a price, but, heck if you can afford one of these babies, it would be computing nirvana (given that your pc doesn’t crash and all. LOL).

PCE shared their booth with Auravision (http://www.auravisionllc.com/) who had their line of lighted keyboards, and mouse, using their Eluminx technology. (http://www.eluminx.com) What was interesting about them was that you had a myriad of colors to choose from.  Their new gaming line had an army feel to the casing, and the light that illuminated the keys and/or the optical light in the mouse, matched that of the case, very cool.  I had a chance to play UT2k3 on it, and the keys are very responsive, and very easy to press.  Keyboards are out now, and are priced at $99.00
