Right across from Bluetake was Xonix Watch Technology. (http://www.xonixwatch.com) They were showcasing their new ‘Mega Memory Watch’. Basically a watch and USB Memory key all in one package. Memory sizes range from 64 MB to 256 MB. The USB cable is tucked in the band and the connector is under the ring. Funny thing though, the watch itself is water resistant (up to 30 meters), but the USB part isn’t. The memory being used is made by Toshiba. They also had an organizer type watch in which you are able to store appointments, phone numbers etc. It had an 8 MB memory capacity, and you are able to store 1000 phone numbers, 500 E-mail addresses and 50 schedules. What was disappointing was that it only had a serial port connection not USB. I asked the Xonix representative if a USB option was in the works, he said, maybe in the near future, but for now, it only came in serial port flavor. Great idea, until I saw what Fossil/Palm Source had up their sleeves.

Behind the Taiwan pavilion was Keytech, Inc.’s Magic Touch. (http://www.magictouch.com) It’s basically a touch screen addition to your existing monitor (available for both LCD and CRT). It connects via USB or COM ports (depending on the model), and sizes range from 12” (laptops and such) to 18”. Some of the models also had speakers. It basically strapped on to the front of the monitor, and acted as a second mouse surface. You can move the cursor with your finger or an available pen, which required no batteries. Prices range from $180.00 to $1480.00.

So far so good, but after visiting Keytech’s booth, I decided to grab a beverage, and sit down for a second. On my way out, I saw a familiar name, someone I wasn’t expecting to be at the show. Thermaltake had a nice little center spot near the side entrance. I went by and looked to see what they had to offer.
