Guru3D CeBit 2008 tradeshow coverage - Part #3

Hello and welcome to part three of Guru3D's CeBIT 2008 coverage. If you by any chance just popped into this article, please click on part #1 of the article (hey otherwise you'd miss out on all other good stuff). We continue where we left off.

Corsair

Today we land at the booth of the fine people from Corsair, though know for their reputable memory solutions the past few years they definitely expanded their horizon with some new products including cooling solutions, PSUs, flash memory and some other items niche gear.

Corsair at CeBIT was showcasing quite an impressive number of systems fitted with the latest and fastest DDR3 and DDR2 modules (the DDR3 Dominator modules). Let's have a peek at the PC below.

Now it's pretty hard to see what's going on here. But you are in fact looking at a PC with nFORCE790 SLI Ultra mainboard, 3-way SLI but more importantly, it has DDR3 memory running in there at an amazing 2133 MHz ! Timings 8-8-8-24. I think the 2GB memory in that rig must be as expansive as one GeForce 8800 Ultra, but what an amazing clock frequency !

Looks like the Nautilus 500 water-cooling (we reviewed it almost a year and a half ago) still is doing well. The system you see here had a Gigabyte P35 based mainboard with two Radeon 3870 X2 cards in CrossfireX setup. It was using a Corsairs all new HX1100 Watt PSU and had TWIN 2X2048 DDR2 memory running at 1100 MHz with 5-5-5-15 timings.

Here you can see the power supply range of Corsair. Pretty snazzy stuff for sure. They make use of outsourcing the fabrication of the PSU yet have it design under strict conditions, the end-result is a new and company branded PSU. So in addition to that flamboyant DDR3-2000 memory, one of the hottest things on display is the new HDX family of PSUs with an output of up to 1000 Watts. This high-end high-efficient Kilowatt model will cost you roughly 250 EUR.

And if that is outside your budget, there are plenty more models to choose from. We haven't tested some of them just yet but in the future we'll make sure to do so. From what I understand these are top notch high quality and efficient design PSUs.

Now I had a dozen more photo's yet seem to have lost them somehow. But Corsair was also showing off their lovely flash-memory line, among it the new Voyager GT and we just received a sample, the 32 GB Voyager. The Voyager GT promises access speeds "up to four times faster" than standard USB 2.0 drives. Furthermore, this one comes housed in a water and shock resistant all-rubber casing.
