 CeBIT 2006 in Hannover

Point of View

POV was extremely present at the CeBIT next to the NVIDIA stand. They where a showing off a lot of goods with a fully staffed booth. Very nice. Let's briefly talk through their new products

You wouldn't expect it, but I'm starting off with a PSU or two, as POV will be releasing two models SLI capable PSUs. They have a large amount of amps available on the 12 volts rails and have Active PFC. Both a 520 Watts and a 400 Watts model will be released with correspondingly 33A and 29A on the 12 volts rail. Now you and I both know that such PSU's usually top a 100 EUR right?

The 520 Watts model will probably sell for 50 EUR and the 400 model likely for 40 EUR, nice. Hopefully it's a quality product line though. We'll see.

Did you know that POV makes cases as well ? No ? This is the new design. Huge yet silent 25cm fan at the side-panel. it's called the Turbine.

What do you think of that ? POV has released the new series 7 products based on the reference cooler. Now that lovely novelty on there will be sold separately. I asked, and POV "might" be planning to sell overclocked edition's of the Series 7 line with this cooler. It just looks stunning, is silent and will cool down the GPU an extra 10 degrees C. Additional cost .. probably 15-20 EUR. Who would not opt that solution right ?

Reference based (as pretty much any card in this article) the GeForce 7900 GT.

Just like last year a case-mod (well case) made by by Ed Buijs, a Dutch guy (of course!). Great job, 400 man hours of work and it's called the Bat Case, this is POV's company logo. Last years case mod I found more appealing though.

Of course water-cooled ..  Go visit the guy's homepage who did the mod right here: www.ediejo.nl
