 CeBIT 2006 in Hannover

Visiting the CeBIT 2006 in Hannover

Guru3D.com CeBIT 2005 VisitIt's March again .. that means pretty much any company that has a small influence in the IT industry is packing up it's hottest gear and will be showing off their latest goods at the CeBIT in Germany.

CeBIT is easily one of the biggest IT exhibits that takes place in Europe every year. Roughly two million visitors and well over 8000 exhibitors are attending the CeBIT. CeBIT focuses on the professional visitor, rather than the end-user. The majority of exhibitors were IT/Enterprise oriented and only handfuls in attendance were for the consumer level.

To give you an idea on how big the exhibit grounds really are try to relate to this one: take 520 football/soccer fields, place them together and that's the sheer size of the exhibit. You can imagine that such a huge exhibit has its disadvantages as you really need to make a selection of what you can or can't see. Therefore we focus purely on what was interesting for Guru3D.com, that means most of all graphics cards, mainboards and the usual nifty gadgets we ran into that made us say, ooh look that!

We have to congratulate to organization of the CeBIT though, for the second year in a row parking was not a mess (thank God for GPS by the way) and the companies where all placed nicely together placed at the same spot. Things where organized quite good.

We can notice that that the economy is picking up even better over last year; most companies showed off their good big-time with very large and expensive booths.

For me personally the experience at CeBIT is as always busy yet great. Guru3D staff members are technology freaks so this is an opportunity that'll make our mouths water.

This year biggest happenings from Guru3D.com view have to be the new NVIDIA GeForce 7 line-up, their Quad SLI introduction, ATI's new X1900 XTX cards, a dongle free Crossfire development and High Definition television ... believe it or not but HD has been around for 11-12 years already and finally it's starting off in Europe. And it's going well though as we'll even show you some photo's on the world's largest Plasma HD screen.

So we'll start off this article with the bigger names. You'll see mostly photo's guided with some comments and after a page of ten this article will continue in a pictorial completely.

Next page please, and have fun.
