BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 650W First Class review

The photoshoot

Gawp at many photo's in the image gallery.

Bequiet Dark Power Pro 650 Watt PSU irst class edition

The Dark Power Pro 650 Watt First Class edition and in the cardboard box. Very nice design and a lot of attention went into the packaging. In it obviously all components including the PSU which is ATX and BTX form factor ready.

It's quite a bundle. And as you can see Listan dealt with care.  Cables are nicely organized and wrapped in Velcro. Included with the PSU you will receive:

  • Power cable
  • Thumb screws
  • Velcro straps
  • Some cable ties
  • An actually good manual

Hold on, there's cables to explain ... connectivity wise you'll have:

  • 1x 24 Pin Motherboard Connector with Adaptor to 20 Pin (native)
  • 1x RPM control (3pin) (native)
  • 1 x cable for peripherals 600+150+150+150+150mm( 2xSATA / 2xHDD / 1xFDD )
  • 1 x cable for peripherals 600+150+150+150mm ( 4 x HDD )
  • 1 x cable for SATA connector 600mm+100+100+100(4 x SATA) include 3.3V
  • 2 x cable for PCIe connector 600mm with 8pin to 6+2pin
  • 1 x cable for P8 connector ( 8 pins ) 600mm + 1 x cable for P4 connector ( 4pin ) 600mm
  • 1 x cable for Motherboard ( Molex 4pin ) 600mm
  • 1 x cable for mainboard ( Dualboard ) EPS 6pin 600mm
  • 4 x cable for case fans ( controlled by PSU ) 700mm ( 1 x Molex / 1 x 3pin )
  • 1 x cable for peripherals 500mm ( 1x HDD)
  • 2 x cable for SATA 500mm ( 1 x SATA )

The cables are sleeved beautifully and are long enough to reach anything in your case. The previous PCIe connectors had fuse protection on the end of the cables. This feature is missing on the new model. Also make note of the color coding, you simply match the color of the connector to the color of the connector on the PSU. At the end of the cable you'll notice a label, clearly indicating the purpose of the cable; it's even guided with tiny photo's. Very nice detail.

The knight in shining armor itself. At the top we see the 120 mm fan + fan grill to keep the device cooled. It's very silent actually and rated at 20 db(A). Fan will adjust it's RPM based on temperature but throughout testing always was very quiet.
