ATI Radeon 9800 Pro - Reference

By: Hilbert Hagedoorn Edited by  | Published: April 2, 2003

Conclusion
All in all ATI once again managed to place a product on the market that's is the fastest thing available, a very pleasant product. The GeForce FX 5800 Ultra however is trying to keep up with the Radeon 9800 Pro the newer Detonator 43.45 drivers definitely close the gap very well. When we compare both products another big plus in favor of the Radeon 9800 Pro is of course sound .. the active cooling method used on the Radeon 9800 Pro is way more silent than NVIDIA's FlowFX solution. If you do not have a clue what I'm talking about then please read our GeForce FX 5800 Ultra review. So basically as GeForce 5800 Ultra FX comparison that's sums it all up.

Furthermore, the card is highly programmable, game programmers will love the Radeon 9800 Pro. Next to that, it simply is fast and very efficient with it's quality setting in Anisotropic Filtering and Anti Aliasing. Installation was as easy as a breeze, no problems at all. Stability then, it never crashed even once. The Radeon 9800 Pro is a joy to own, it in fact is a somwhat beefed up Radeon 9800 Pro it'll play any game to date absolutely fabulous with and without setting like AA and AF. However, if you own a Radeon 9700 Pro then it's definitely not worth it to upgrade though. If you are seeking for the latest and greatest ... well you surely can't go wrong with this product.

Again two thumbs up fro ATI, definitely recommended.
