ZLib CPU test

This integer benchmark measures combined CPU and memory subsystem performance through the public ZLib compression library Version 1.2.2

CPU ZLib test uses only the basic x86 instructions, and it is HyperThreading, multi-processor (SMP) and multi-core (CMP) aware. A very good test to measure multi-core performance among platforms.

Memory Read test

Lavalys Everest has an excellent tool to measure memory bandwidth. At last a platform where DDR3 finally can kick in massively. Here we see the DDR3 memory really take off thanks to that triple-channel memory controller. It is SICK how much bandwidth that is.

Now we used the high-spec OCZ DDR3 2000 MHz memory. And as I've explained, I just did not have the time just yet to overclock this system. The BIOS however allows you to just flick the memory frequency up within a second. I quickly flicked it up to 1870 MHz with the help of a BIOS multiplier to see what would happen. Now look at that...  that's insane. We left the memory at this setting throughout the benchmark session so you can see what kind of effect it has on overall performance.

Even with memory write performance we see absolutely amazing stuff. 15000 MB/sec writes... dang.
